Bihor County is a heart of history in which there were clarified, in successive layers, the epochs and the civilizations of our continent, maybe more because of the favorable geographical position but because of some strategies or elaborated plans in time by the historical groups. Within the Apuseni Mountains and the Panonic Plain, the initial natural link was formed by the secular rivers and forests, through which the human being penetrated more and more, until he established: villages, citadels, towns, his influences, uniting and consolidating them later with roads more and more faster and secure, mastering the waters and the lands of the aerial, assimilating himself the theories and the rich.

Because it is not to forget that here, thanks to the deposits of gold and iron and the blessing with grains and timber, the human being slowly learned how to exploit all of them. This is how the civilizations of the place were burned and developed; consolidated and extinguished, till today, giving birth at the same time to a genealogic tree which forces us to bow before the precursors and the past.

Out of these feeling of respect and duty was born the Foundation for Protecting the Historical Monuments of Bihor County, having as responsible founders the Bihor’s County Council and the Local Council, Oradea. Our site is just a sketchy mirror of the surprising history we live in and we will lie when the time comes, as it is given to all the people and their passing by aspirations, hoping that we will be gladly discovered and continued with sternness by the ones that will come.
